I Read 115 Books in 2024. Here's the list, with reading stats and superlatives!

I set an ambitious goal this year; 111 books- a completely arbitrary number (though an angel number), but much more than years previous. This pushed me to slam a few novellas and short stories (and equally avoid longer books). StoryGraph says I "traversed landscapes of the heart, engaged in introspective musings, and explored shadows of the human psyche." Overall, I'm pleased with my accomplishments this year, but am going to refocus my priorities for 2025.
My GoodReads stats are as follows:
Average Rating in 2023: 3.8 Stars (+.14 from last year)
Averages Book Length: 331 pages (-5 from last year!)
Most Shelved: A Little Life
Highest Rated on Goodreads: The Women

Final Reflections
I read 14 more books than last year! This is incredible. I had to make much more of an effort, but it was worth it. I found so many gems. I DNF'd relatively quickly and was not going to waste time on things I didn't like.
Nonfiction: In 2022, I read 32% nonfiction, 2023 was 20%, and 2024 was 24%. I'm looking to make more of an effort with nonfiction in 2025.
The Broward County Public Library no longer offers free library cards :( Though the annual subscription price is $30 per month, I still have Chicago, NYC, Queens, and Brooklyn library cards. I've decided to forgo the paid subscription and intentionally maximize my use of my library cards and other services such as Amazon First Reads, NetGalley, and Libro.fm Advance Reader Copies.
My mood trended pretty steady, and generally lower than last year. I'm still doing my best to manage family tragedy and read books that I can connect with.
I'm okay with not liking a book that other people highly recommend. I could rant forever about literary fiction about the middle-class white woman who has angst about her unsatisfying marriage. I'm not doing it again in 2025! Chelsea Fagan ranted about this and that queen is not wrong!!
I'm going to track books for my superlatives starting at the beginning of the year, so I don't forget any / focus only on my EOY books :)
